    End of Internet Subsidy Leaves Millions Facing Telehealth Disconnect (Source: KFF Health News) When the clock struck midnight on May 31, more than 23 million low-income households were dropped from a federal internet subsidy program that for years had helped them get connected. The Affordable Connectivity Program was created in 2021, in the midst of the covid-19 pandemic, to help people plug into jobs, schools and health care by reducing their internet costs by up to $75 a month.

    Palliative Telehealth’s Quality of Life Improvement Equivalent to In-Person Care  (Source: Hospice News) Telehealth can be just as effective as in-person visits when it comes to palliative care. Researchers found that early palliative care via telehealth often improves quality of life for patients with advanced non–small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) at a level equivalent to in-person care, according to a study presented at the 2024 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) annual meeting. The American Journal of Managed Care (ALMC) first reported the results.
